1. UPSC IAS Prelims Exam Pattern
The Prelims exam is the first stage of the selection process. It is an
objective-type examination with negative marking.

Candidates must choose one optional subject from a list of
48 subjects provided by UPSC.
Popular Optional Subjects:
Public Administration, Geography, Sociology, History,

4. Personality Test (Interview)
The final stage is the Personality Test, conducted to assess
suitability for civil services.
